Sweet + Heat Honey

"Honey, I'm home!"  is such a sweet melody to my ears.  Anytime anyone makes it home safe, I am a happy camper and I thank God.  Seeing our loved ones walk through the door is simply a blessing.  With that being said, I took some perfectly sweet honey and gave it a little kick.  You guys!  This homemade hot honey recipe is so simple, that you will love it!

Sweet + Heat Honey

INGREDIENTS:

• 1 c honey (your favorite Brand)

• 1/2 T. hot sauce (optional)

• 1 T crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for your preferences)

• 1-2 dehydrated peppers

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.  You'll want to simmer this good stuff for about 2-3 minutes with continuous stirring.  Pour this perfectly sweet + heat pairing into a small, heat-proof jar.  Cover with a lid and refrigerate for 1-2 months.

This can be used as a marinade or as a drizzle.  My favorite is to drizzle it over fresh basil, tomato, and mozzarella; pizzas; and shrimp skewers.  This little jar of goodness is a great gift idea as well!

Enjoy and please leave a comment if you get a chance to try this recipe!
